Nigeria's Vice President Atiku Abubakar will pay official visits to the US and Brazil as of Wednesday, his office said Tuesday.
Abubakar will arrive in the United States on Wednesday, and head to Brazil on November 6, spokesman Chris Mamman told reporters.
On Thursday, the vice president will co-chair a conference on AIDS in Nashville, Tennessee.
He said Abubakar is expected to co-chair the conference, aimed at curbing the spread of the deadly disease in Africa, with US President Bill Clinton.
While in Brazil, the vice president will discuss bilateral trade issues with officials.
Abubakar will be accompanied on the visits by senior government officials, including ministers of agriculture, aviation, communications, health and transport -- LAGOS (AFP)
