The renaissance in Singapore’s nightlife that is driving regional growth throughout South East Asia’s professional audio and lighting industry is being highlighted at PALME Asia 2007, currently taking place at Singapore Expo.

Singapore has reaffirmed its position as a regional nightspot venue with global brands such as Ministry of Sound, HedKandi, Buddha Bar and Café Del Mar already firmly established.

Given these developments, it is small wonder that PALME Asia 2007 (formerly known as PALA), the professional audio and lighting industry’s dedicated event, will now be calling Singapore its permanent home. It also reflects the confidence of event organiser, IIR Exhibitions, in Singapore’s potential as a regional hub for nightspot infrastructure.

Darren Brechin, Group Exhibitions Director, Entertainment & Installation Technology Group, IIR Worldwide, added: “Singapore is recognised as the regional business hub and with the development of integrated entertainment resorts, it is fast becoming the focus for the regional entertainment industry. PALME Asia provides the perfect platform to accommodate that growth.”

Prominent industry members also believe Singapore’s professional audio and lighting industry has room to grow with most expecting 5 to 10 per cent growth through 2008.

PALME Asia 2007 has witnessed the return of many key industry players and international brands. The vibrant growth of the property market in Singapore and the region has also led to the emergence of more architectural lighting players.

Some exhibitors are also looking to capitalise on the booming local and regional property market. At Install, the building installation sub-brand of PALME, exhibitors are seeing brisk business for their building management and pro audio equipment such as public address systems.

Bosch Security Systems, which acquired Telex Communications last year bringing their stable of brands under the Bosch umbrella have a strong showing at PALME this year and are extremely confident about the industry with its overall business witnessing double-digit growth - with the Asia Pacific region being its fastest growing market.

Doris Grammer, Bosch Security Systems’ Vice President for the Asia Pacific region, said: “New products or solutions introduced into the Singapore market have a positive influence on the rest of the region.”

PALME Asia 2007 incorporating Install and Event 360 is taking place at the Singapore Expo and will run till 14 July 2007. For more details, please log on to www.palme-asia.com.
