ALBAWABA- Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant conveyed to his American counterpart the necessity of a response to the recent Iranian attack. 

Axios, quoting an official familiar with the matter, reported Galant's firm stance, asserting that Israel cannot tolerate ballistic missile launches without retaliation. Additionally, Austin emphasized the imperative of averting further escalation. 

In response, the Iranian Foreign Minister stated their aversion to escalation but warned of swift and potent retaliation if provoked by Israel. 

Concurrently, the postponement of Netanyahu's meeting with opposition leaders due to heightened tensions was reported by the Israeli Broadcasting Authority. 

The recent Iranian offensive, involving drones and ballistic missiles, targeted Israel in retaliation for Israeli airstrikes on the Iranian consulate in Syria, resulting in significant casualties among Iranian military personnel. 

This marked a critical escalation from an indirect to a direct confrontation between Israel and Iran, prompting international intervention to thwart the attack and urge de-escalation.
