Body to offer scholarships to talented scholars to pursue higher studies abroad
The officials of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation recently visited Al Ghurair University (AGU) to select outstanding scholars of AGU for the foundation’s Fellowship Programme. Under this programme talented Arab students who demonstrate leadership, dedication and commitment to the Arab world's human and socio-economic progress will be offered scholarships to pursue higher education in international universities abroad. Students will be selected from 22 member countries of the Arab League.
The fully-paid scholarships will cover tuition, fees, books, housing, monthly allowance and an annual return ticket, for the full duration of study. The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation’s ‘Fellows’ programme aims at developing the knowledge capabilities of talented youth across the Arab World, by offering scholarships to pursue Master’s Degree programmes in Business Administration (MBA), Public Administration (MPA), Public Policy (MPP) and Finance at leading international universities.
Dr Abdurahem Mohamed Al Ameen, President of AGU said: “If selected by the foundation, some of our most talented students will get a chance to study abroad without having to pay anything which is a welcome prospect for many of them in these tough economic times. The programme which is offered to applicants who demonstrate outstanding scholastic achievement, leadership qualities and community involvement, will prepare our students for careers in research and management and inculcate analytical capabilities in them.”
He added that the programme will offer a unique opportunity to AGU students to engage in high-quality research and will further enhance the long-standing strength of AGU as an excellent seat of learning among UAE’s universities. Dr Al Ameen pointed out that the university is committed to helping dedicated and deserving students meet their educational goals through these focused fellowship programmes and encourage academic excellence and leadership in AGU students.
