ALBAWABA- Oman and Turkey have solidified their partnership by signing 10 significant agreements and memorandums of understanding during a ceremony in Ankara, attended by His Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The agreements span joint investments, healthcare, political consultations, investment promotion, agricultural and fisheries development, labor, entrepreneurship, SME support, central banking cooperation, and cultural exchanges.
This collaboration builds on a historical relationship that flourished during the Ottoman era, fostering enduring political, economic, and cultural ties.
Sultan Haitham’s visit is a milestone that will expand opportunities for both nations, enhancing bilateral trade and business cooperation.
The agreements align with Oman’s Vision 2040, focusing on non-oil economic activities, and Turkey’s efforts to leverage Oman’s strategic location as a trade hub, including plans for a Turkish industrial zone in Duqm to boost production, job creation, and exports.
A landmark energy deal was also signed between Turkey's BOTAŞ and Oman LNG. For a decade, the deal will ensure the supply of 1 million tons of liquefied natural gas annually from 2025, strengthening energy security and diversification.
These developments mark a new chapter in Oman-Turkey relations, fostering mutual growth and high-level collaboration across multiple sectors.
