The Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC 2006) to be held November 5 – 8, 2006 received a major boost with the announcement today that H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Hamed Al Rumhy, the Omani Minister of Oil & Gas, will be among several high-profile participants in the conference session to be held in parallel with the exhibition.
Other prominent speakers at the conference include Yousef bin Omair bin Yousef, CEO of the ADNOC Group, David Lesar, President & CEO - Halliburton, Malcolm Brinded, Executive Director, Exploration and Production – Shell and Tony Hayward, Chief Executive, Exploration and Production – BP. They will participate in an executive panel discussion, sharing their vision for the oil and gas E&P (exploration & production) sector in 2020.
Another executive panel discussion will focus on how to meet demand and achieve efficient production over the next five years. Speakers at this panel will include Bernard J. Duroc-Danner, President & CEO - Weatherford, Farouk Hussain Al-Zanki, Chairman & Managing Director - Kuwait Oil Company, Philippe Boisseau, Management Committee Executive Officer, Upstream - Total and Stephen M. Cassiani, President - ExxonMobil Upstream Research Company and ExxonMobil Upstream Technical Computing Company.
Stating that the theme for the conference would be “Meeting the increasing global demand through innovation”, Ali Al Jarwan, General Manager of ADMA-OPCO (Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company) and Conference Chairman at ADIPEC 2006 said: “With the participation of industry leaders from national and international oil companies, the ADIPEC 2006 conference will play a role in pointing the way to how the industry will evolve over the next few years”.
“More than 170 expert speakers will be featured at the four-day event. Besides the two executive plenary sessions, there will be eight expert panel sessions, 18 technical presentation sessions and four poster sessions, focusing on environmental issues, geo-science integration, the oil and gas development cycle and technological advancements in the industry”.
“The programme has been designed in a way that will maximize the value that participants can gain through interaction with the speakers and fellow delegates”, he added.
ADIPEC 2006 will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE. The event is organized by dmg world media and will be held at the ADNEC (Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company) exhibition hall with the support of the SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers).
ADIPEC 2006, the 12th successive edition of the event, is poised to be the biggest ever. More than 30,000 visitors are expected at the exhibition and over 1,000 leading oil and gas companies from more than 50 countries are participating. The event builds on the success of ADIPEC 2004 which featured 1,209 companies from 54 countries, occupying a total gross exhibit area of 30,000 square meters.
