Omar Al Mukhtar Group Claims Responsibility for Attack Against Israeli Patrol

Palestinian resistence group Omar Al Mukhtar in a statement faxed to Albawaba.com claimed responsibility for an attack against an Israeli patrol passing near the Kisufim Jewish settlement in the southern part of the Gaza Strip Monday. 

The attack, which involved the use of grenades and machineguns, left one Israeli dead and several injured, according to the statement issued by the group. 

This attack was one in a series of retaliatory operations carried out by several Palestinian groups after the assassination of fetah member Hussein Ebayat. The operations have left five Israelis killed and more then 8 injured.
