Major developments and ongoing construction are creating high levels of demand for new networking technology in Abu Dhabi, with experts expecting the Emirate to become one of the most significant markets in the Middle East in 2007.
Projects which deploy advanced communications infrastructure, like the expansion of Abu Dhabi International Airport, are driving investment levels to record highs, and many international networking specialists are looking to introduce high-level technology to respond to this demand.
Online Distribution, one of the leading distributors of data networking products and services, is one of the companies benefiting significantly from this trend.
The company is anticipating strong demand from its expanded presence at the forthcoming MECOM Telecommunications and ICT Summit in April, with plans in place to unveil a select portfolio of vendor partner products.
Some of the major communication vendors of Online Distribution will be displaying solutions at MECOM, that include Juniper, Extreme Networks, Trend Micro, Ortronics, Legrand Cabling Systems and Proxim.
“Abu Dhabi is an important market for OnLine Distribution, and we’re heavily involved in discussions with major government end users as well as some of the large solution providers. We’re witnessing strong demand for innovative voice and cabling solutions to provide the high level of connectivity for projects that are rising across the Emirate,” said Keith Rich, managing director, Online Distribution.
OnLine anticipates strong demand for wireless and security solutions, particularly as more projects in Abu Dhabi seek to provide “commercial” space for tenants.
“Many companies are looking to increase productivity and mobility through the provision of greater internet access for employees, wherever they are. To achieve this, they need to have both the wireless network and the security infrastructure in place, which creates further demand for the right technology,” added Rich.
The MECOM Telecommunications and ICT Summit will be held on the 23rd - 25th of April 2007, in conjunction with the MECOM exhibition, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
