The only Saudi and Arab pilot among the new trainee pilots in the Red Bull Air Race:

Shihab Alireza, the young Saudi pilot will inaugurate his first training program chosen among other groups of new trainees in the Red Bull Air Race with an exciting demonstration over the fountain of Jeddah Corniche on March30th, following intensive training in allotted camps in Germany, Austria and Spain.
 
It is noteworthy that the nomination of the Saudi pilot to participate in the training, which described by His Highness Prince Sultan Bin Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Chairman of the Saudi Aviation Club SAC and co-sponsor of Shihab, as the most difficult air race in the world, came after Shihab took part in a series of stringent tests, including the most important test taken by Shihab under the supervision of the international coeval pilot Peter Besenyei during the Red Bull Air Race round held in the Hungarian capital Budapest last August 2006.
 
Following the demonstration over the Jeddah Corncihe fountain by Shihab under the supervision and participation of the of the Austrian pilot Hannes Arch, one of the active participants in the Red Bull Air Race 2007, the Saudi pilot will continue the intensive training in Saudi Arabia in Al-Thumama (Riyadh), as per the directives of H.H Prince Sultan Bin Salman, Chairman and founder of the Saudi Aviation Club (SAC).
 
The Saudi pilot will also carry on with the intensive training in a number of international training camps during the training courses in the Red Bull Air Race in Abu Dhabi (UAE), Istanbul (Turkey), Barcelona (Spain) and Perth (Australia), as the Saudi pilot aims to participate as a key participant in the Red Bull Air Race 2008 or 2009, in accordance to his training progress.
 
Notably, the Red Bull Air Race is the only air race of its kind in the world, held on 12 rounds and hosted by global cities including: Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Istanbul (Turkey), Barcelona (Spain), Interlaken (Czech Republic), London (UK), Budapest (Hungary), Porto (Portugal), San Diego (USA), Acapulco (Mexico), Perth (Australia) and Abu Dhabi (UAE), which will host the race on April 6.
