Outstanding Individuals to be recognised by top Asian trade publication
Hong Kong, 25 November 2008
RFP (Real Estate Facilities Projects) Magazine, one of Asia's top trade titles and the leading magazine for the industries of the built environment, today launched the 2009 ‘Outstanding Individuals in Industry’ Awards. Set up to reward the professionals responsible for the buildings in which we work, live and play, the awards were launched in 2008 to regional acclaim. This year, the format has been expanded, with three new award categories: Industry Champion, Business Development and Architectural & Systems Design.
Judging the awards will be an expert panel drawn from across Asia, with diverse expertise and experience in the wide range of competencies that make up the property, construction, design and building industries. The international celebrity panel includes:
Ben Butt, Director, Goldcrest Asia & RFP Magazine
David Edwards, Regional Director, LaSalle Investment Management
John Gilleard, Partner, Sloan Partnership
Chandrashekar Hariharan, CEO, Biodiversity Conservation India Limited (BCIL)
Michael Joroff, Professor, MIT
Dominic Whiting, Asia Real Estate Correspondent, ThompsonReuters
“Last years award winners won acclaim from across the region from both press and the general public, and helped to show what the unsung heroes of our industry can achieve” said Claire Saeki, Co-Founder and Publisher, RFP Magazine. “We are looking forward to seeing new heroes that have risen in real estate, construction and other industries that saw a turn in fortune following the global economic downturn. It’s fantastic that people have got behind these awards so whole heartedly – the industry should be proud.”
“The awards are really about highlighting the shared achievements of the industries of the built environment in Asia,” explained RFP Magazine’s Managing Editor, Ashford Pritchard. “By calling-out people, and not projects, we aim to put a human face to an industry which performs a truly essential service to the general public, but is all too often overlooked.”
Nominations are open between now and January 6th, with judging taking place in February. The winners will be officially announced at a gala black tie dinner (fast becoming one of the must-attend events of the year) in Hong Kong in May. Nomination forms can be downloaded from the awards website: www.rfpmagazine.com/outstandingindividuals, and submitted by email (awards@rfpmagazine.com), fax (+852 2851 9477) or by post.
