Pacers Trounce 76ers 97-89

The Indiana Pacers trounced the Philadelphia 76ers 97-89 in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals of the NBA playoffs Wednesday, and took the series lead 3-0. 

Both Reggie Miller and Allen Iverson scored 29 points while Travis Best added 19 points and six assists, helping the Pacers win and moving within one victory of sweeping the 76ers out of the playoffs for the second straight season.  

The two teams will resume play in Game 4 on Saturday at the First Union Center. 

 

LAKERS BEAT SUNS IN JUST 2.6 SECONDS 

The Los Angeles Lakers just beat the Phoenix Suns 97-96 with 2.6 seconds remaining and led the Western Conference semifinals series 2-0, Wednesday. 

Twenty-one year-old Kobe Bryant leaped 15-feet in the air with only 2.6 seconds left and scored, giving the Lakers their victory by just one point. 

Shaquille O'Neal, had 38 points, 20 rebounds and four blocked shots, while Bryant finished with 15 points and Glen Rice added 13 for the Lakers.
