ALBAWABA- Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Jeddah on Wednesday for a four-day official visit to Saudi Arabia, aiming to enhance economic cooperation, boost trade, and promote investment between the two nations.
Jeddah Governor Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi welcomed the Pakistani premier at the airport, alongside Ambassador Ahmed Farooq, Consul General Khalid Majeed, and other diplomatic officials.
Accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, key federal ministers, and senior officials, Shehbaz is set to meet Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
Discussions will focus on strengthening economic partnerships, deepening trade relations, and fostering greater diplomatic coordination.
The agenda will also cover regional and global issues, including the situation in Gaza, evolving Middle East dynamics, and matters concerning the Muslim Ummah.
The visit, at the invitation of the Saudi crown prince, underscores the historical ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and is expected to pave the way for stronger collaboration in key sectors.
This visit follows Shehbaz Sharif’s October 2024 trip to Riyadh, where Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed multiple agreements worth over $2 billion, covering investments in agriculture, semiconductor chip manufacturing, textile industries, energy projects, and cybersecurity.
