Two major Palestinian factions have urged the Palestinian leadership to declare a Palestinian statehood, and to ensure protection for the Palestinian people.
At a joint press conference in Ramallah on Monday, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) said that “time has come for the Palestinian leadership to adopt an approach based on confrontation with the enemy, and ensures the safety of the Palestinian people” said
Secretary General PFLP Abu Ali Mustafa.
On his part, member of DFLP politburo, Qais Abdul-Karim, better known as Abu Layla stressed “there is nothing more to fear,” adding “the Palestinian liberation should be based on the declaration of the Algeria summit held in 1988.”
In response to a question by Albawaba.com regarding his front’s position on the separation plan announced by Barak that, Mustafa said “if Barak’s declared plan is based on the withdrawal of the Israeli troops to the lines of the 4th of June 1967, then there is no problem, since this is exactly what the Palestinian people is struggling for, but I think that Barak meant the racial separation under a policy of cantons” -- Albawaba.com
