A Palestinian teenager was killed on Monday after being hit by Israeli shellfire in the Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahia.
Three other children were injured in the attack, according to Ynet.
Israeli military sources claim that the shell had been fired in response to rocket attacks on Israel from the Strip.
Earlier in the day, four Qassam rockets had been fired towards Israel.
Israeli forces enter West Bank city of Nablus in response to Tel Aviv bombing
Meanwhile in the West Bank, Israeli forces entered the city of Nablus to carry out a series of arrests following the suicide bombing in Tel Aviv which took the lives of nine and injured nearly 70.
According to witnesses in Nablus, the soldiers fired at a crowd of people who were throwing stones and firing pistols at them.
Two Palestinians were wounded as a result, including a 13-year-old boy.
The soldiers had reportedly entered a building to carry out arrests, and found themselves surrounded by the crowd who had discovered their presence.
Elsewhere in the West Bank near Bir Zeit University north of Ramallah, crowds threw incendiary devices at Israeli soldiers, after which the soldiers dispersed the crowd.
Islamic Jihad claims responsibility for attack
The Islamic Jihad faction took responsibility for the Tel Aviv attack earlier in the day, according to Haaretz. The bomber who blew himself up is believed to have been only 16 years old, the youngest Palestinian to carry out such an attack so far.
Several countries including Germany and Russia condemned the Tel Aviv bombing, calling on Palestinians to disarm.
Jordan also denounced the bombing, saying that such attacks were harmful to the Palestinian cause.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas had expressed similar sentiment earlier in the day.
