On 1 December, participants in the international “Train to Copenhagen” project will arrive in Moscow in a special Russian Railways carriage. A special event to mark the project, which is organised by International Union of Railways (UIC) and Russian Railways, and supported by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the WWF, will be held at Kursk Station.

The participants are environment experts who are travelling from Kyoto to Copenhagen for the international climate change conference. Vladimir Yakunin, the President of Russian Railways, will take part in the event, as well as representatives of the UIC and WWF and other officials.

Volunteers will hand out fliers and stickers to passengers, tell them about the “seal the deal” promotion, and with their agreement will fill out a form and photograph them, and later upload this online.

In a separate zone, signatures will be collected, and green stamps will be placed on a special banner to signal agreement with the petition.
Additionally, a children’s drawing competition with an environmental theme will be held.
