"Isra wal Mi'raj" are the two parts of a journey that Prophet Muhammad took physically and spiritually. Verses 1 and 60 of the seventeenth chapter of the Qur'an talks about Isra Wal Miraj. The Modhesh Theatre was host to a two hour long interactive show put up by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Trust.
The show began with the story of Isra wal Miraj. The story unfolded with a detailed description of Prophet Muhammad's journey from Kaaba in Mecca, when the archangel Gabriel came to Muhammed with the winged steed Buraq, who carries Muhammad to the "farthest mosque", Masjid -ul- Aqsa in Jerusalem.
The second part of the journey, the Mi'raj, where the Prophet was taken to the heavens, where he tours the heaven, speaks with the earlier prophets and finally with Allah had all the children entranced and awed. The importance of praying five times was highlighted by telling the children how the Prophet got a reduction from Allah when asked to enjoin Muslims to pray fifty times a day.
After the recital of the Isra Wal Mi'raj story the audiences participated in a quiz on "Isra Wal Mi'raj". The quiz was open to both children and adults. There were many prizes to be won by all. Seven year old Rawan Ahmad Mohammed who answered correctly and won a prize said, "I love the story of Mi'raj and especially Buraq. I would love to meet Allah too."
Another prize winner, Same Badr Alden a father of four said, "I make it a point that the children come to Modhesh World during Isra wal Mi'raj and other Islamic occasions. They learn all about the important parts of our religion and that too without making it a discipline. This is surely the best way to imbibe good habits in them."
The show came to an end with distributing gifts to the children from Al Ihsan Charity Centre. Al-Ihsan Center is a non-profit charity organization, based in Ajman, dedicated to serve the poor & distressed with monthly and daily food ration, new and/or used home appliances, furniture and personal items.
