Israeli police arrested a resident of the Jabalya refugee camp near Nazareth Wednesday on suspicion that he planned to carry out a mass bombing in Israel. But there was not evidence to confirm the suspicion while interrogating him, reported Haaretz newspaper.

On Wednesday, Nahed Ahmad Reihan was arrested at a roadblock, as he traveled by bus from Kafr Kana to Nazareth.

A senior police source told Haaretz that "as the interrogation proceeded, it became clear that the arrest was rushed, and had no real cause. The serious suspicions evaporated during the interrogation." Nonetheless, the police have still not released Reihan.

Reihan, 25, was arrested when he was identified by a photograph distributed to security personnel by the Shin Bet internal security service, said the paper.

Last Sunday, the Shin Bet issued a detailed warning regarding a Palestinian plan to carry out an attack in northern Israel.

The security organization attached a photo of Reihan to their circular, which warned that an explosive device was being carried in a black briefcase, Haaretz reported - Albawaba.com
