Spice Girl Victoria Beckham and her footballer husband David are planning to sue author Andrew Morton for libel if his planned tell-all book about their lives is published, the Sunday Mirror tabloid reported.

A British High Court judge is due to rule on Tuesday whether to allow publication of "Posh and Becks; A Marriage,'' which is based on material supplied by the couple's former bodyguard Mark Niblett, the paper stated, according to ABC online.

Morton wrote "Diana -- Her True Story,'' based on Princess Diana's account of the break-up of her marriage to Britain's heir-to-the-throne Prince Charles.

Beckham, the England and Manchester United player, and his pop star wife would sue Morton and publisher Michael O'Mara for libel if the High Court action failed, the Sunday Mirror said in an unsourced report.

The couple claim Niblett's actions in talking to Morton breached a confidentiality agreement he signed when the couple employed him, it said-Albawaba.com.
