With the closing up of the contest's deadline, the competition among students became more intense in their efforts to come up with the most creative results, which made it very difficult for the jury to select the winners.

Student Sarah Mohammed Al Omari from Al Jazirah school bagged the first prize for her project “ Robot coffee waiter invention” while the second place was won by student Mohannad Ayman Al Sherif  from Al Shoura school for his project on “Electric tissue dispenser” . Student Faris Fouad Mohammed Ali from Al Shuhada School secured the third place with his project “Electrical saw”.

Prince Mohammad Khaled Al Abdullah Al Faisal announced that the winner will be offered a trip to Japan with her parents while visiting the research and development centers of Sony Electronics.

"The actual purpose of the competition is not just the prize, as it aimed to unleash curiosity and scientific creativity in our students' minds, as youth represent more than 75% of the population in our beloved Kingdom, which means that utmost care must be given to develop interest in science in order to have a generation of young scientists who have the ability and willingness to turn our country into a knowledge hub," added Prince Mohammad.

The Sony Creative Science Award is an initiative launched by Sony Gulf Co. and Modern Electronics Company Ltd. for the first time in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2005. It is the only contest in the Kingdom that requires participants to invent a game that reflects at least one scientific principle, such as the gravity and magnetism and floating. The purpose of the contest is to encourage innovation and awaken creativity and invention skills among youngsters, and making scientific education more fun in line with the schools' science curricula and innovation basics.

The ceremony ended by showcasing a scientific show by the Japanese scientist Nishimora , who demonstrated some applications that use scientific principles, in a fun atmosphere that kept the audience entertained.
