Princess Sumaya University for Technology Announces Two New Professorial Appointments

Two new professors joined the faculty of Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) as of the new academic year (2005-2006).  Both the King Abdullah II School for Electrical Engineering and the King Hussein School for Information Technology are welcoming a new member to their faculty.  Dr. Mohammad Al Nezami will be lecturing on electrical engineering at the King Abdullah II School whereby Prof. Yahia Al-Halabi will lecture on computer science at the King Hussein School.

Dr. AlNezami, a Ph.D. graduate in Electrical Engineering from Florida Atlantic University, is a senior lecturer in the processing algorithms and wireless digital radio systems.  Prof. Al-Halabi, meanwhile, holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Clarkson University in New York, and has an extensive scientific and professional experience in computer applications.

In welcoming the two professors, Professor Hisham Ghassib, president of PSUT, stated, "PSUT has once again proven to be a venue for scientific excellence on a local and regional scale by welcoming two of the Arab world’s most respected scientists and intellects as members of our faculty. We are confident of the teaching and research value these two professors will add to PSUT’s portfolio.  In addition, PSUT will witness other notable achievements in the future providing the growing expertise among its faculty members."

Dean of King Abdullah II School for Electrical Engineering, Prof. Ahmad Hiasat greeted Dr. AlNezami on his new job, and explained that the professor's extensive expertise in electrical engineering "will enrich the faculty's knowledge regarding the Communication Engineering major, which was approved recently by the Higher Education Council."   On his part, Dr. Arafat Awajan, dean of the King Hussein School for Information Technology, stated, "We are proud to see Professor Al-Halabi joining us at the faculty to deepen the know-how and competence of our students and lecturers."
