The Organizing Committee of the Doha Summer Fun Park has announced the changes to the activities and events occurring during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The number of visitors to the Doha Summer Fun Park has reached over 90,000 since its opening on July 20th 2010. The Organizing Committee has undertaken extensive preparations for the new activities that will be taking place throughout the Holy Month.
Mr. Ahmed Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Qatar Tourism Authority states that "the special activities taking place during Ramadan will be unique and exciting, with several new activities scheduled to instill traditional values during the Holy Month. The new events will attract even more visitors to the hugely successful Doha Summer Fun Park."
A new theatre, in the style of a traditional Qatari house with Liwan (courtyard) will be built at the Doha Summer Fun Park for the duration of Ramadan. The current series of theatre shows will conclude as of Tuesday 10th and new theatre activities will take place. In addition to this, a large screen will be placed on the theatre stage showing well-known Ramadan television series.
Storytellers and a Syrian band will perform traditional Syrian folklore. Furthermore, there will be puppet shows and games for children, with opportunities to win prizes.
The Organizing Committee of the Doha Summer Fun Park has arranged a mid-Ramadan evening for Karankao, which will be supported by many charity organizations and social centers who will attend the celebration. Theatre activities will be taking place along with the giving of gifts and prizes for children.
A number of restaurants will serve local and Middle Eastern foods. There will be a cafe which will serve local dishes and a number of traditional Ramadan sweets. New shops will offer merchandise for Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr.
Organized by QTA and produced by SEQLIA Organizing & Building Exhibitions & Conferences Company, Doha Summer Fun Park is open to families and visitors from the GCC region. Doha Summer Fun Park welcomes fun-seekers from 8pm to 2am during Ramadan. Entry is free for all.
