Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority (RAKIA), a major provider of investment opportunities and one-stop solutions in its Free Zones, Industrial Parks and Offshore facilities as well as in Real Estate developments and other ventures, has announced that its recent participation in Middle East Electricity and Gulfood has generated impressive leads in terms of attracting specialised industries to RAKIA’s Free Zones and Industrial Parks.

Middle East Electricity, held in Dubai in February for the 35th time as the leading energy event of its kind in the world, and Gulfood, held in Dubai in February as the Middle East’s leading dedicated event for the food service and hospitality sector, were excellent events for RAKIA to introduce its new concept of themed industrial zones and to approach potential investors and companies.

RAKIA’s proposed cluster matrix includes the sectors Food, Chemical, Plastic & Rubber, Non-metallic Mineral, Primary Metal, Fabricated Metal, Electrical Equipment / Appliance / Component, Transportation, Business Park / R&D / Local Centre and Logistics with the possibility to add further industries after thorough due diligence and evaluation.

Raed Mustafa, General Manager Industrial Parks, RAKIA, stated: “We need the market to become aware of this exceptional investment opportunity that will bring together specialised key industrial players to use synergies and integrated facilities to complement each other with their peers and grow together in an environment tailored for the needs and requirements of their specific industry. RAKIA with its existing, ever-growing infrastructure, world-class facilities and service has all the right ingredients to be a strategic partner for these industries by providing the required framework, ensuring an adequate industry- and company-mix and supporting in business development for a sustainable growth.”

He continued: “We believe that the UAE’s trade shows and exhibitions can help us to identify and attract the perfect companies for our industrial clusters and have already signed up for our participation in further events, for example the Woodshow from 13-15 April 2010, Dubai’s International Wood & Wood Products Show, which is rated the largest dedicated wood and wood machinery exhibition in the Middle East. RAKIA will also be participating in the Big 5 from 22-25 November 2010, Dubai’s International Building & Construction Show, which is considered the most commercially successful trade fair in Dubai and the annual meeting place for all industry professionals. We look forward to welcoming interested investors on our stand there.”
