Real Madrid avenged two group defeats by conquering Bayern Munich 2-0, Wednesday, in the first leg of the Champions League semifinal at Santiago stadium.
Nicolas Anelka, who came after suspension, was recognized for scoring a leading goal in the fourth minute by rifling an angled shot that found its way into the roof of the visitors' net.
Twenty minutes later, Bayern's defender Jens Jeremice awarded the opponents with their second goal.
Spanish defender Salgado Waltzed broke through the visitors defence, passing several players, before Jeremies turned the ball mistakenly into his own net, hiking up the opponents lead into 2-0.
Real is expected to play the final with either Valencia or Barcelona. This result will be known after their second leg match on May 24th requiring some hard work from Real in their second leg match against Bayern in Munich next Tuesday.
The visitors, however, had a better performance in the second half gathering all possible efforts to get a vital goal.
But, the tension and lack of concentration, kept their shots quite wide from home's net.
The Germans entered the field and past experiences with their opponents gave them the false impression that they were an easy win, "Real were a different team to that which we faced a few months ago." AP quoted Bayern's President Frans Beckembauer as saying - Albawaba.com
