For the third consecutive year, GESS, the region’s leading education event, has attracted an increase in visitor numbers with footfall rising by 15% over the three day period. Now in its third year, GESS has succeeded in establishing itself as a must attend event for both the region’s education professionals as well as local and international educational solutions providers.
Such has been the success of this year’s GESS that by the final day of the event, 25% of floor space had already been reserved for next year’s show. The show also recorded a significant increase in pre-registration numbers this year compared to previous years and attracted the participation of more than 200 exhibitors from 27 countries.
Sue Rothwell, Group Event Director, F&E commented: “GESS 2010 has been the most successful show to date and has succeeded in attracting not only quality exhibitors but also high quality visitors. The feedback from exhibitors and visitors alike has been extremely positive, and already GESS, together with its associated Global Education Forum, has carved a niche position in the Gulf's calendar of must-see events.”
In addition to representatives from the Education Ministries from across the GCC who attended the show, this year’s GESS was visited by, His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein.
GESS 2010 showcased a range of educational supplies and solutions including information technology and multimedia learning aids through to classroom and sporting equipment and teaching aids for special needs education and welcomed a total of 5,600 visitors through its doors.
This year’s GESS exhibition also attracted several new exhibitors including global brands such as Visa and Xerox as well as locally based companies such as Kidz Inc.
