The region's premier luxury fashion event launches: Fortnight of Fashion

Harper's Bazaar Arabia, the Middle East's premier international fashion
magazine, will stage the second Harper's Bazaar Fortnight of Fashion from
7th-20th October 2010 at The Dubai Mall. The Harper's Bazaar team, who are
now gearing up for the biggest fashion fortnight ever seen in this region,
are excited about the brands that are going to be part of this event, and
what this means for fashion followers in the region. Louise Nichol, Editor
in chief of Harper's Bazaar says, "The fashion industry is entering a new
era of considered luxury and our readers have a connoisseur's appreciation
of what merits their investment and aesthetic appreciation. The Fortnight of
Fashion will celebrate the very best in craftsmanship and creativity.
Harper's Bazaar readers will be treated to two weeks during which the whole
region can indulge in our shared love for style. It's every fashion addict's
dream.'

This year's event will again be hosted by the region's fashion capital, The
Dubai Mall, the flagship development of Emaar Malls Group and the world's
largest shopping mall. Mr Nasser Rafi, Chief Executive Officer, Emaar Malls
Group, said: "The Dubai Mall is at the forefront of innovative campaigns and
events that catalyse the regional retail sector. Fashion Avenue, the
dedicated haute couture precinct in the mall featuring over 70 global brands
and a state-of-the-art Fashion Catwalk, is today the undisputed fashion

Avenue also showcases an array of leading high-fashion events."

To launch this year's event, the opening of the new Symphony concept store
in Fashion Avenue of The Dubai Mall which will see a host of celebrities and
socialites celebrating the new store and start the biggest fashion event on
the UAE's calander. This year marks the 40th anniversary for KENZO and we
are proud to announce they will be celebrating this with Harper's Bazaar
Arabia and the Fortnight of Fashion. Creative Director Antonio Marras will
be attending the event at their boutique to mark this important milestone in
the brand's history. Ralph Lauren is also celebrating their 40th
anniversary during the event with Harper's Bazaar Editor in chief, Louise
Nichol reflecting on the brand, 'Ralph Lauren is an icon of understated
luxury and its autumn/winter 2010 collection is among the most coveted of
the new season'.

Vertu is the first luxury accessory brand involved in this year's event; the
brand that has brought a whole new meaning to the catch phrase "must-have"
will wow attendees with their luxurious range. From jewelled accessories to
jewel inspired collections, Custo Barcelona will be celebrating their
arrival into the region, and to The Dubai Mall, showcasing their A/W 2010-11
collection.

In association with the new Shop Smart section in Harper's Bazaar Arabia,
which recognizes how women in the region shop and style their outfits mixing
luxury ranges with high street brands, this year the Harper's Bazaar
Fortnight of Fashion is launches a series catwalk shows, bringing consumers
the best of the high street A/W10 collections. Banana Republic and Topshop
will be showing, with more brands coming on board over the next few weeks.

Philips has confirmed their place at this year's Harper's Bazaar Fortnight
of Fashion, bringing Andy Uffels, their Haircare Artistic Director and
international fashion catwalk stylist to Dubai to showcase this season's
catwalk styles and give consumers tips on how to get these styles at home
with Philips hair tools.

Harper's Bazaar are also proud to announce their new partnership with Image
Nation, the Dubai based luxury PR company who will be representing the
Fortnight of Fashion to local and international media, managing press
participation and coverage for the campaign surrounding the fortnight long
fashion event.

For art lovers, the event will include an Andy Warhol exhibition, marking
the artist's collaboration with Harper's Bazaar in his early years as a
freelance fashion illustrator. Budding young illustrators are invited to
follow in Warhol's footsteps and enter the Harper's Bazaar Fashion
Illustrator competition and win the chance to become a contributor to
Harper's Bazaar Arabia. Entries are open until the 24th September to amateur
illustrators who reside in the GCC.
