Jordanian security agents have have dismantled two "terrorist" cells, which included 12 men, who aimed at launching attacks on Israeli targets from the kingdom's lands and on foreign tourists.
Al Hayat newspaper reported Wednesday that one cell was dismantled in February. This cell included eight activists of the Islamic Jihad Movement, namely: Ali Mamdouh al Omari, Muhammed Sabri al Jundi, Yusuf Abdullah al Sweiti, Mahmoud Muhammed Abu Ayed, Emad Suleiman Ubaydat, Hawari Bomedian Darsiyyeh and Abdelrahim Ibrahim Shabaliyyeh. Another suspect - Abdalmu'ti Abu Mua'aylq has escaped and likely found shelter in Syria, the report added.
These eight men are charged with plotting to carry out "terrorist" attacks and damaging Jordan's relations with a "foreign state".
Some suspects went to Syria and Lebanon to attend courses on manufacturing explosives and using weapons and maps, according to the charge sheet.
