Thousands of protesters flooded the streets of Amman today, demanding an end to the recent Israeli assault on Palestinian civilians in Gaza and the West Bank. The demonstrations took place primarily in the Al Rabieh area, where the Israeli embassy is located in Amman.

In recent weeks, the world has watched in horror as Israeli bombs rained down on Gaza, hitting residential buildings, schools, churches and hospitals, causing widespread destruction and claiming numerous innocent lives. The scale of devastation has left the international community in shock, prompting widespread condemnation and calls for immediate action.

The protesters in Amman conveyed their solidarity with the Palestinians, denouncing the violence and urging the international community to intervene. While a small faction of demonstrators engaged in acts of sabotage, the majority participated peacefully, emphasizing their commitment to a non-violent protest. The Jordanian police force played a pivotal role in maintaining order during the protests, ensuring the safety of civilians and preventing the escalation of violence.

In addition to the protests in Amman, similar demonstrations erupted in Zarqa, Irbid and other cities of Jordan, as citizens voiced their solidarity with the Palestinian cause, demanding an end to the Israeli assault on Gaza.

The protests in Amman serve as a powerful reminder of the deep emotional and historical ties that connect the Jordanian people with their Palestinian neighbors. The outcry for an end to the violence and the resounding call for justice reverberate through the streets, resonating with people worldwide.
