Yemeni Interior Minister Hussein Mohammed Arab arrived in the Red Sea port of Jeddah Monday for an official visit aimed at the putting into practice a recent border agreement between Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
"During this visit of several days, Arab and his Saudi counterpart Prince Nayef bin Abdul Aziz, will preside over the work of the joint Saudi-Yemeni commission charged with taking the necessary measures to putting into practice the agreement" which was signed on June 12th in Jeddah, an official source said in Riyadh.
The commission must in particular choose a foreign firm to put markers along the land border in line with the agreement.
In a statement published Monday by the Saudi daily al-Jazira, Arab said "the two commissions, military and technical, will study the question of redeployment of military forces from each of the two countries at various points along the border."
The border agreement ended several decades of territorial dispute between Riyadh and Sanaa - RIYADH (AFP)
