Palestinian fighters in the Gaza Strip fired rockets at southern Israel on Tuesday. Three rockets hit open ground in southern Israel without causing any casualties or damage, an army spokeswoman said.
The armed wing of the radical Islamic Jihad movement said it had fired four rockets in response to the overnight killing of one of its members in the West Bank. Early Tuesday, the Israeli troops shot dead the 20-year-old Jihad Nawahda, a member of Saraya al-Quds, in the West Bank village of Yamun, near Jenin.
Israeli troops dressed in civilian clothes, killed Nawahda as he was coming out of an internet cafe. Other Israeli forces then raided the village and interrogated several Palestinians at the internet cafe before leaving the village.
