All those who opened Monday's edition of Britain's Guardian newspaper were in for a great surprise, especially if they were interested in acting, according to the Associated Press.
Right there in black print an advertisement declared that world renown director Roman Polanski is seeking a man, aged 25 to 35 for a role in his upcoming movie!
"Acting experience not essential but he needs to be sensitive, vulnerable and charismatic," said the ad.
The film, scheduled to begin filming in Warsaw in January, is based on the autobiography of Polish composer Wladyslaw Szpilman, who escaped death in a Nazi concentration camp, reported the AP.
Polanski, the director of Rosemary's Baby and Chinatown, also escaped the Nazis as a child in Poland. His mother died in Auschwitz.
"He feels there is someone out there, not necessarily an actor, who embodies what he feels about Szpilman," casting agent Alex Johnson told The Guardian. "Obviously the ability to play the piano would help, but he is looking at this in a very broad way" – Albawaba.com.
