Inter Milan star Ronaldo snapped a tendon in his right knee in Wednesday night's Italian Cup final and will undergo an operation later on Thursday in Paris, a club spokeswoman told AFP.
The decision was taken after an examination of the Brazilian striker in Paris by Professor Gerard Saillant.
Ronaldo collapsed in agony during the 2-1 first-leg defeat to Lazio when his knee gave way as he attempted a body feint.
Fears that the same tendon had given way were confirmed by the return visit to Saillant at Paris' Piete Salpetriere hospital on Thursday afternoon.
The Brazilian, whose career has been on the slide ever since the 1998 World Cup finals, flew in by private jet to Paris for an examination accompanied by Inter's team doctor Piero Volpi and his agent Giovanni Branchin -- MILAN (AFP) -- Photos by AFP.
