Rosewood Hotels & Resorts appoints Chef De Cuisine at The Globe
Simon Probst at culinary helm of iconic Riyadh restaurant The Globe
Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has appointed Simon Probst as Chef De Cuisine for The Globe, the iconic restaurant that overlooks Riyadh with panoramic views from atop Al Faisaliah Tower.
Chef Probst, who has more than a decade of experience in Michelin-starred restaurants across Europe, will oversee the culinary direction for the hotel’s acclaimed restaurant. Encapsulated in a golden dome 240 metres above Riyadh, Chef Probst takes the helm of one of the world’s most distinguished restaurants and dining experiences.
“Chef Probst has worked in some of the finest restaurants throughout the world, and joins us from Beijing,” said Wolfgang Pachler, Managing Director at Al Faisaliah Hotel. “His training and subsequent posts in Europe, one of which included two years under internationally renowned chef Gordon Ramsey in London, as well as the Far East have given him a wealth of talent.
“The Globe is the crowning culinary achievement of Al Faisaliah Hotel, and holds an eminent position in the Saudi Arabian dining scene, celebrated by Riyadh residents and visitors alike.

Al Faisaliah Hotel, a landmark at the heart of the city’s Olaya district, has won two awards at this year’s World Travel Awards. The hotel was awarded Saudi Arabia’s Leading Hotel and Saudi Arabia’s Leading Business Hotel.
The Middle East winners were announced at a glittering “Oscars” style World Travel Awards event in Dubai on 28th October 2008.
Situated atop the Al Faisaliah Tower, The Globe serves exceptional food complemented with unmatched personalized service and features Riyadh's first cigar lounge.
