Rubber World Industries (RWI), the leading manufacturer of closed-cell rubber insulation 'Gulf-O-flex' in the Gulf and South-East Asia, and part of the international business conglomerate, the Shaikhani Group of Companies, has announced that it is on target to deliver AED 40 million worth of its products to customers across the GCC by the end of 2010. The manufacturer also revealed that its operations are now back on track, after the massive fire that broke out in its warehouse located in Ajman, by utilising stocks from its other storage facilities and partner factories.

At present, RWI has stocks of 35 containers of tubes and 10 containers of sheets, which are sufficient to cater to its existing contracts. The company is also undertaking major steps to rebuild its factory in Ajman, with an interim manufacturing facility already set up. Furthermore, RWI is in the process of signing new contracts, which can potentially increase its chemicals and plastics capacity by 80 per cent by 2012. Bids to be the rubber insulation supplier for many other prestigious projects being built in the region are also in place, following RWI's successful involvement in the construction of 'Al Raha Beach' development, 'Saadiyat Island' project and 'Yas Island' in Abu Dhabi.

"With an expected 4 per cent rise in international demand for rubber products per year until 2011, we are focusing our efforts to stabilise our production volumes to address the burgeoning demand, especially in the region. Due to the unfortunate incident and its major effects on our production capacity, we are now doubly focused on finding ways to adequately provide our customers' required volume of products promptly and sufficiently, while maintaining the high level of quality we have always provided our customers, which is the foundation of RWI's strength as a brand," said Muzammil Shaikhani, Managing Director, Rubber World Industries.

RWI has expressed its gratitude to the Ajman Government, General Department of Ajman Civil Defence, General Department of Ajman Police, Municipality and Planning Department of Ajman and FEWA for their support during and after the fire mishap. As the manufacturer of products used in massive projects of major property developments such as Emaar and Nakheel, the important role of the company in driving the emirate's economy has prompted local departments to extend their assistance. In addition to its involvement in major domestic projects, the company is also currently exporting rubber insulation systems to more than 90 countries, including the US, Germany, Russia, Canada and Singapore.

"After we assume full functionality within our Ajman warehouse, we will continue on with our earlier announced plan to increase production by 25 per cent to sufficiently address the region's need for rubber insulation products. Though our perseverance, commitment to our customers and strong backing from our partner factories, we are confident that we will be able to hit these targets we have set," concluded Shaikhani.
