UAE President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin exchanged cables of congratulations on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two states. According to WAM, in his cable, Putin praised Sheikh Zayed for his contribution in consolidating cooperation between the two states in various fields.
Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai has also exchanged greetings with President Putin on this occasion. In a statement on the occasion, Russian Ambassador Sergy Yakovlev hailed the achievements accomplished by the UAE during the last 30 years thanks to the wise and balanced leadership of Sheikh Zayed.
“Our world has witnessed major changes and the best evidence of that is the path crossed by the UAE under the leadership of Sheikh Zayed towards a better future. The UAE has managed to change the desert to greenery, has built modern and beautiful cities, airports, roads, while the country's economy has achieved major accomplishments which contributed to the service of the UAE people.
