The management of Samaya Hotels & Resorts expects a positive year for the hotel industry especially during the 1st quarter due to an expected increase in arrivals to the UAE.
The increase in arrivals and hotels guests will be boosted by the Dubai Shopping Festival, events such as the Gulfood Exhibition and the Dubai International Arabian Horse Championships, and celebrations like the Chinese Lunar New Year and the Iranian New Year.
“The first quarter of the year looks very promising for Samaya Hotel and I’m sure it is the same for other hotels. We have experienced more than 90% occupancy in January during the week of Arab Health and expecting to have the same in February because of events like DSF and the Gulfood Exhibition,” said Mr. Syed Zulfiqar Mehdi, Sales Director of Samaya Hotel.
“We also have a big delegation from China who will be celebrating the Lunar Year in Dubai this month. In March, we are looking at another high occupancy because of the Iranian New Year,” he added.
Samaya Hotel also enjoys good occupancy because it is a dry hotel. Mr. Mehdi revealed that professional football teams from Abu Dhabi and the other emirates choose the hotel whenever there are matches being played in Dubai.
