SAMENA Telecommunications Council, the multi-continent telecommunications consortium has announced their annual flagship event ‘Convergence to Istanbul 2009’ to be held from 3-5 November 2009 at Ciragan Palace, Kempinski Hotel in Turkey. Themed ‘A Broadband Rising…With Efficiencies Maximizing Profitability’, the conference will provide SAMENA members with a platform to explore investment opportunities in broadband to maximize business efficiencies.

SAMENA Telecommunications Council is also organizing ‘The 2nd Annual SAMENA Awards’ in conjunction with the gala dinner on November 4th, 2009 to recognize leadership and excellence in the telecommunications industry in the SAMENA region. The four award categories to recognize the efforts of the Council’s members and non-members in addressing the concerns and needs of the telecom sector are: Operator Awards (9 categories), Manufacturer/Vendor Awards (1 category), Regulatory Awards (1 category) and Executive Awards (3 categories).
‘Convergence to Istanbul 2009’ will also feature the VIP and CEO’s live sessions which will provide the region’s leading operators and service providers with an opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities that exist within the SAMENA’s telecommunications business environment and explore various convergent solutions that hold the key to offering customers feature-rich, bundled services and products while maximizing efficiency and return on equity.
