Samsonite Group – the worldwide leader in travel solutions – today announced that R. Jai Krishnan has joined the team as Vice President, spearheading its operations in the Middle East and beyond. In his new role, Mr Jai Krishnan will head the business operations for the entire GCC, Central Asia, the Levant region, most of South Asia (excluding India) and some parts of Africa as well.
An industry veteran with nearly two decades of experience in luggage and furniture sectors, Mr Jai Krishnan was previously the Sales Director for VIP Industries, heading their international business operations in Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific.
In his comments, Mr. Subrata Dutta, Managing Director South Asia, said: “I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Jai Krishnan as the Vice President at Samsonite for Middle East and beyond. He brings with him an intimate knowledge and understanding of the luggage industry and the competitive landscape in which we operate. He is a graduate in Physics and also done a management programme from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmadabad.
