Samsung Announces Nominations for the Samsung Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award for the 15th Asian Games Doha 2006

Samsung announced today that the Steering Committee for the Samsung Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award has finalized its nominations for that  MVP Award.  Accredited journalists covering the Games will be asked to vote between December 11th and December14th to determine the winner.  Results will be announced on December 15th at a press conference to be held in the Main Press Centre.

Introduced at the 1998 Bangkok Asian Games, the Samsung MVP Award is the only award recognized by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and the Doha Asian Games Organizing Committee (DAGOC).

A distinguished Steering Committee, consisting of officials from DAGOC, the OCA, and Samsung, as well as former athletes and sports journalists, carefully screened each Asian Games athlete and nominated the most accomplished candidates for the MVP Award.  After nominations, accredited journalists covering the Asian Games will vote for their choice for the MVP winner.  This year’s MVP will receive a trophy along with a Samsung LCD TV and a $50,000 USD check to be awarded to their respective NOC to be used toward future support/ training of athletes.
