Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., a leading electronics manufacturer, has announced a new campaign to celebrate the Holy Month and the importance of helping others by collaborating with leading charity, Beit Al Khair.

As part of the campaign, when consumers purchase a number of Samsung products through its distributors in the UAE, part of the proceeds will go to the humanitarian organisation. The flagship products and donation amounts include the C9000 3D LED TV (AED 500), the Galaxy S smartphone (AED 100), the TWIN refrigerator (AED 100), the CQV513 microwave (AED 100) and the R590 Notebook (AED 100).

The Samsung Ramadan campaign aims to gather insights from consumers by asking them to share their special Ramadan moments to fully understand their needs in order to ensure they get the best use out of their products during the Ramadan period. The Ramadan microsite (available at www.samsungramadan.ae) also invites registered guests to send out their personalised Ramadan greetings.

Marco Vocale, Head of Corporate Marketing, Samsung Gulf Electronics, said: “Ramadan is a time of giving and the Holy Month is the perfect opportunity to demonstrate the company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and ongoing dedication to helping those in need. We hope to raise enough to really make a difference to those who are in need, and that’s why we’ve chosen renowned charity, Beit Al Khair, to be the beneficiary of our donations.”

Abdeen Taher Al Awady, General Manager, Beit Al Khair Society, commented on the Samsung campaign, saying: “This Ramadan campaign is considered a great approach and is a benchmark for others to reach, where a company can promote their own products and give back to society at the same time. By dedicating a small amount of profit to helping out the less-fortunate in the UAE, we say thanks to Samsung Gulf Electronics for putting trust into the Beit Al Khair Society. We are delighted to collaborate with Samsung for the second year running and we hope to accomplish great results to benefit those in need.

Beit Al Khair Society, which was established in 1989, raises funds and organises programmes to help uplift the disadvantaged in the UAE society. Whether it be low-income nationals or patients with special needs, the society works in collaboration with public welfare institutions in the United Arab Emirates.
