Saudi Arabia Cuts off Thief's Hand

Saudi Arabia amputated the hand of a Bangladeshi man convicted of robbing Muslim pilgrims in Mecca, according Saudi state television, quoted by Gulf News Thursday.  

According to the paper, an Interior Ministry statement read on television said the said the Bangladeshi man had had his right hand amputated for robbing pilgrims at the Grand Mosque in Mecca. 

Saudi Arabia is accused of human rights violations by the London-based Amnesty International for executions and organ amputations. The Gulf kingdom, which applies the Islamic Law, or Sharia, has lashed back rejecting the accusations, saying that Islamic rules ensure human rights - Albawaba.com
