A court in Saudi Arabia has imprisoned at least 13 men guilty of terrorism counts, including recruiting members for al-Qaeda's 9/11 attacks against the US and helping shelter Osama bin Laden, Reuters reported Tuesday.
Some of the victims' families are pursuing a lawsuit against Saudi Arabia that accuses the country of providing material support to the terrorist organization, according to Reuters, accusations that Riyadh denies.
A Saudi newspaper reported the prison sentences for the charged men ranged from one to 23 years.
One of the detainees confessed in the Dubai court that he had helped bin Laden find shelter at a Saudi citizen's home in Pakistan after bin Laden fled Afghanistan, Reuters reported.
He was also affiliated with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks currently being held in the US naval base Guantanamo Bay.
