Saudi Arabia wants to know if any progress has been made in the more than a decade-old jewellery theft investigation and the murder of four Saudi diplomats in Thailand, reported Bangkok Post on Wednesday.
The message was conveyed to Thai deputy prime minister Chavalit Yongchaiyudh by Saudi charge d'affaires Waheeb M. Sehti, said the daily.
Gen Chavalit was quoted as saying that the Saudi envoy attached more importance to the murder cases.
Relations between Thailand and Saudi Arabia turned sour after a Thai worker, Kriengkrai Techamong, stole a large quantity of jewellery from the palace of a Saudi prince in 1989. The ties were further strained by the murders of four Saudi diplomats in Bangkok in 1990 and 1991 – Albawaba.com
