As part of the UAE's 39th National Day celebrations, the Emirates Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) in association with Abu Dhabi Blood Bank, organized a blood donation campaign themed "My drop: a drop of your blood saves their lives". The drive was intended to reflect the human element and national values connected to the federation day.

H.E Abdullah Al Turaifi, CEO of the SCA, together with the Authority's Deputy Chief Executive Officers, consultants and directors, took part in the campaign. Said Al Turaifi: "This initiative is part of our commitment to corporate social responsibility and reflects the spirit of corporate cooperation and the values shared among the people of the UAE. Blood donation is a noble human act that helps save the lives of thousands of patients in need of blood transfusions."

The SCA invited its employees as well as a number of other parties, including the Ministry of Economy, the Insurance Authority and Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, to participate in the blood drive. Employees of some of the financial brokers operating in the country also participated in the campaign.

The Authority organized festivities at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi and its branch in Dubai in celebration of the National Day. These celebrations were attended by all employees, who wore scarves carrying the UAE flag and photos of the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The Authority's offices and rooms were also adorned with the UAE's flags.

Al Turaifi, on behalf of the Authority, extended warm congratulations to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, his brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and to Their Highnesses, Members of the Supreme Council, Rulers of the Emirates, as well as to the people of the UAE.

In his address, the CEO said that the UAE has achieved great achievements across all domains, and that it has occupied a leading position in the region since it was established in 1971 by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founder and father of the UAE. He also emphasized that the Authority will continue to play its leading role in developing the financial markets and supporting the national economy.

Cultural and national shows as well as other artistic works demonstrating the federation's evolution, and reflecting employees' happiness on this occasion, were put on display. In addition, traditional sweets and food were distributed to attendees.
