SeaMobile Europe is announcing the launch of a new version of its popular Media ClipWay software. Media ClipWay 2.0 allows journalists to broadcast live and pre-recorded full-screen videos faster and more easily than ever before. Media ClipWay 2.0 can be used from locations throughout the world with only a camera, a computer with Media ClipWay software, and an Inmarsat BGAN to uplink broadcast-quality videos.
One of the major enhancements of Media ClipWay 2.0 software is that it allows users to deliver full-screen broadcast-quality live videos through Inmarsat BGAN X-Stream service, which offers a guaranteed IP-connection from 384 to 450 kbps. Higher data rates can also be reached by bonding several connections. Media ClipWay has improved its transmission protocol and now offers automatic link management, allowing journalists to easily combine available bandwidth of up to 4 links (i.e. BGAN, ISDN, xDSL, 3G, VSAT) without having to control each link separately.
Inspired by reporters’ experiences, ClipWay’s Research and Development team has developed two additional features to smooth and shorten the editing and broadcasting processes. The new video cut tool provides simple editing capabilities, while the multi-transmission function allows users to send the same video(s) to multiple users without repeating the capture, compression and transmission processes. Additionally, ClipWay now offers news-gathering services to distribute reports all over the world. Users can manage the distribution and download of videos through a user-friendly Web interface.
During the IBC show (Amsterdam, September 11-15), demonstrations of Media ClipWay will be on display at booth G49-Hall 7. Special training sessions on how to “Deliver Broadcast quality video from anywhere with only a BGAN and ClipWay” will take place on Saturday, September 12 and Monday, September 14 at the RAI center.
