Senegalese President Leaves for Tripoli

Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade left for Tripoli on Wednesday, where he is due to take part in a summit on African development before going on to the UN General Assembly in New York, an official statement said. 

Around 10 heads of state are expected to take part in the summit in the Libyan capital, the statement from the presidency said. 

Wade will then go on to the UN's "Millennium Summit" which begins on September 6th, where he is due to address the assembly - DAKAR (AFP)
