Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Defense Minister General Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum Sunday distributed the Rashid Award for Scientific Excellence to 313 nationals who showed outstanding records in their educational careers, Emirates’ official news agency (WAM) said.
The winners included holders of higher qualifications such as doctorates and masters degrees as well as toppers in local universities and colleges and high schools.
Sheikh Mohammed also honored Mohammad Al Murr, a UAE writer, and chairman of the Dubai Culture and Science Forum in appreciation of his role in promoting the forum's activities, WAM said.
Sheikh Mohammad expressed satisfaction over the growing numbers of national holders of post-graduate degrees.
According to the agency, Sheikh Mohammad urged the awardees to benefit from their knowledge and expertise in bringing up an educated generation of youngsters.
He also called upon holders of post-graduate degrees to be exemplary in giving and determination to continue on the road to science, it added – Albawaba.com
