Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi inaugurates teaching aids exhibition

Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi, son of H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, inaugurated an exhibition of teaching aids and instructional tools held at the Rafaq School for Basic Education at the Rafaq area in southern Ras Al Khaimah.
Inaugurating the exhibition, Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi lauded the teachers for the preparation of teaching aids and said that the adoption of new technology can be a great facilitator in the teaching- learning process.
“There has been a change in the way students acquire knowledge with the shift from teacher- centered learning process to student- centered learning. The introduction of new technologies and innovative instructional tools can make the learning process more interesting and engaging to the students,” he added.
The exhibition featured a variety of latest instructional material and audio- visual aids to assist students in learning wide range of subjects from mathematics and science to social studies and languages.
Abdullah Hammad Al Shehi, Director of RAK Educational Zone, said that he was impressed with the material on display at the exhibition.
He added that the educational zone has been encouraging teachers to integrate technology into the classrooms to make the learning process more productive for the students. “This exhibition highlights the resourcefulness and creativity of the teachers in preparing innovative teaching aids,” he added.
Aisha Obaid Al Kaabi, Principal of the Rafaq School for Basic Education, said that the exhibition would continue for two weeks and will be open for teachers and students from nearby areas.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Humaid bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, Office Manager of Ras Al Khaimah Crown Prince, Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Mansoor, President of the RAK Parents Council, officials from the RAK Education Zone and teachers were present on the occasion.
Students also staged several music and dance performances as part of the event.
