ALBAWABA - An armed attack left three Israeli police officers killed on Sunday morning, the attack took place at the Tarqumiya checkpoint, west of Hebron, Israeli media reported.

Initial reports by the Israel emergency service confirmed that two Israeli policemen were killed and another was injured before he succumbed to his wounds hours after the attack.

The Israeli army is chasing the armed men after their car was found empty and they have sent reinforcements to the area. The army is also besieging the town of Idhna (northwest of Hebron), as part of the search for the perpetrators of the armed attack.

This comes amid the Israeli army's announcement of retrieving the bodies of six Israeli hostages from Rafah city in Gaza.

The body of Israeli-American hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin was also among the bodies found in Rafah along with Eden Yerushalmi, Carmel Gat, Almog Sarusi, Alexander Lobanov, and Ori Danino.
