Spain's TV group RTVE has relied on SIDSA's technology to protect its thematic TV transmissions over the two platforms that is operating, through Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales, on the Spanish satellite Hispasat to Europe and America.
Teléfonica Servicios Audiovisuales (TSA) has selected SIDSA's Conditional Access System KeyFly CDN, already into operation on RTVE's platform called "Europa", to encrypt the Spanish-speaking TV content in the thematic channels that the TV company is distributing to all Latin America.
RTVE America's platform, into operation since 1994, is currently distributing, through Hispasat 1C, 9 TV channels and 14 radio stations, of which TVE Internacional América 1, TVE Internacional América 2, Canal 24 Horas and Docu TVE are encrypted.
A large number of cable and satellite operators across the American continent re-broadcast RTVE's channels which require a specific content protection system that guarantees a high level of security and allows the management of their access.
KeyFly CDN (Content Delivery Networks) has been especially designed to meet all operators' requests. It combines a highly safe transmission system with an efficient access control to the distribution of audiovisual content (feeds, newsgathering, etc). It enables to control, at any time, which device is receiving the signals allowing the re-distribution of content through different (National, Regional or Local) digital TV networks via cable, satellite or terrestrial.
To this end, SIDSA's Conditional Access System KeyFly CDN is designed with the latest security and encryption techniques, using specific integrated circuits developed by the company to achieve the highest level of protection.
KeyFly CDN system uses professional Conditional Access Modules (CAM) embedded in all kind of professional receivers (IRD) through the Common Interface standard, guaranteeing fully interoperability with all manufacturers. KeyFly CDN CAM allows to decode a complete transponder in only one device, offering thus the platform operator an efficient and compact solution.
SIDSA, worldwide leader in the design and manufacture of Conditional Access Modules, markets highly quality products suitable in a highly competitive market.
SIDSA's Conditional Access System is already being used in RTVE's platform "Europa", also operated by TSA, distributing several TV channels to Europe. Recently, Al Jazeera Sport successfully used SIDSA's CAS to protect its High Definition transmissions of the Euro Cup to the Middle East and North of Africa.
TSA operates satellite platforms that cover Europe and Africa via direct-to-home or multipoint distribution with digital TV channels and radio services both free-to-air or encrypted.
TV or radio signals are broadcast on MPG-2, MPG-4, HD, etc, enabling to receive them with small dishes and use domestic receivers.
TSA operates platforms in the most important satellite companies: Hispasat, Eustelsat and Astra.
About SIDSA

SIDSA headquarters are in Madrid (Spain) and has offices in Zaragoza, Dubai, Hong Kong, Moscow and San Francisco. In 2006 SIDSA investment from the Spanish private equity and venture capital groups: Inova Capital and Baring Group, has stimulated its international expansion and growth. SIDSA's digital TV headend portfolio includes contribution and distribution network solutions, broadcast-to-IPTV EtherTV gateways and terrestrial and mobile digital TV platforms, POLARplus, the most compact but fully featured headend product line in the market. SIDSA complements its headend line with KeyFly 2.0, a smartcard-less conditional access system, specifically designed to offer the maximum level of security and flexibility in horizontal pay-TV markets, such as DTT. SIDSA also offers ultra-secure, state-of-the-art CAMs (conditional access modules) for third party smartcard-based CA. Within the semiconductors portfolio, SIDSA is introducing Enter e1, its new cutting edge DVB-H demodulator and application processor chipset, available as reference designs (hardware and software) targeted at mobile devices, consumer electronics, professional reception and micro gap-fillers markets. SIDSA also develops Intellectual Property for DVB-H and DVB-SH demodulators to the semiconductor industry. SIDSA's key differentiation is the valuable know-how and understanding of complete end-to-end Digital TV Systems. For further information: www.sidsa.com.
