Six Egyptian Soldiers, Driver, Dead in Road Crash

Seven Egyptians, including six soldiers, were killed and eight injured Saturday when the minibus they were travelling in crashed head-on into a truck near the southern town of Luxor, police said. 

Minibus driver Ahmed Mahmoud Mohammed was taking 14 soldiers north from Aswan to Qena when he collided with the heavy truck and was killed instantly, the police said. 

The eight remaining soldiers were taken to hospital with serious injuries, while the truck driver, Hamdi Bedawi, escaped harm, they said – CAIRO (AFP)
